Inspirations
The piece of "Silence" is made to send my condolence to the victims of the terrorist attack in Paris. A French newspaper Charlie Hebdo was killed by the terrorists because an article he has posted humiliated them. The arbitrary slaughter based on an independent media has turned the whole world at rage.
The people on parade were holding the pencils in their hands or putting the finger tip on their mouth in memoir of the victims.
Process
So I first used the jewel saw to cut out all the contour lines of the hands from my drawings and then solder them together. There were totally four layers. The pencil part was made from brass tubing and soldered to the cone shape I made from a sheet of brass.
